Who We Are
Located in Harveyville, KS, being approximately 25 miles southwest of Topeka, KS, The First National Bank of Harveyville was established in 1920. This was a time of prosperity for the nation in general and rural Wabaunsee County, Kansas in particular. The First National Bank of Harveyville was the only bank in Harveyville to survive the stock market crash of 1929.
The death in 1955 of C.H. Houseworth, the bank's original President since 1920, provided the opportunity for Howard E. Mohler to purchase controlling interest.
Despite deterioration in farm income and valves in the early 1980's, the bank never failed to show a profit. It still continues to show a modest but steady growth.
The purpose of The First National Bank of Harveyville is to offer banking services to residents and businesses in Harveyville, and its surrounding residential and rural communities. The bank offers deposits of all types (including IRAs), and loans for agricultural, business, residential, and consumer purposes.
